I have a theory:

How many people here are majoring in, or majored in, English or Journalism, but momentarily tried to major in Chemistry?

lol this made me laugh because my close friend who is attending the same college as me was originally an english major and just changed to chem. however, this was her third time switching (and we’re only freshmen), so we’ll see how long the chem lasts.

yeah, freshmen change majors a lot. I’m a chem major and I remember freshmen year, there were almost 600 students in gen chem, yet less than 70 graduate each year from my college with a BA/BS in chem, so I guess many students switch majors (or lots of those freshmen were studying biological sciences or maybe are pre-health).

I know someone who dropped English lit to go to architecture school, i know someone who dropped engineering for a Russian/Chinese (mandarin) major…freshmen are often clueless little things :]
