I noticed many of you have taken honors chemistry AND then take AP Chem...
My school only has standard and AP versions. Is it ok that I am planning on taking AP Chemistry my junior year? Will I survive without any background in chemistry?

Is it possible? Yes. The challenge for you will be if everyone else in the class has a background in chemistry. The course is very fast-paced, and the teacher will most likely not spend a lot of time on chem review.

Personally, a lot of the concepts of chemistry finally clicked for me when I took AP Chem. I’m not sure I would have understood these concepts without the background of Chem 1.

I’d say if you want a quick overview of Chemistry, you should check out Crash Course Chemistry on youtube.

Though I wouldn’t recommend taking an AP science class without taking a regular/honors version of it first(with the exception of AP envir and AP physics 1).

AP Chemistry is a college-level chemistry course that should be taken after you’ve had a high school chemistry course. If your high school doesn’t have an honors chemistry course, you should take standard chemistry and then AP.
