Has anyone had Chen (J.) or Diener (A.C.) for LS4? And if so, do you recommend either of them? Level of difficulty? Style of lecturing? Just the usual review stuff =)

i heard Diener sucked. check bruinwalk.com

I had Merriam/Diener this last quarter for LS4, and it was probably one of the worst classes I've taken at UCLA. Don't get me wrong, Diener is probably one of the nicest people in the world, and he's probably a brilliant researcher, but the man can't teach to save his life. His lectures are incredibly confusing, and the problems he writes on the tests are equally incomprehensible. The level of difficulty isn't extremely high, but I feel like I didn't learn anything from Diener's lectures. Merriam was marginally better.

If given the choice, I would probably take the other professor's class.

Okay, thank you!! Good to know =)

Anybody have personal experience with Chen? I hope she's not equally as horrible as Diener seems to be...
