Chicago is considered to be a safety to some Ivy Leaguers. Some place it at par. Which other Ivys have you applied to?
I'll start first

Harvard, Columbia and UPenn.

Harvard, Columbia and UPenn.

My son didn't apply to any Ivy League schools. While Chicago is a "match" we consider anything with such a low acceptance rate a "reach" at our house--so that was enough reach for him.

One of my D's best friends applied EA to Chicago and was accepted. She disdained all of the Ivies.

It's intersting how U chicago will overlap with the Ivies...
I applied EA U Chicago as well and I am in the same position as The D's best friend....

I'm a junior, but I'll apply to none next year. Chicago is already my "reach" , and beside the fact that I feel Chicago is stronger in the scienes than the Ivies I would have a shot at.

Accepted EA, great match for me.

Physics/Pre-Law

Harvard, Princeton, Cornell CAS, MIT (deferred), Stanford, UIUC (admit)

Columbia, Brown, Penn, Cornell....I like the midwest though.

Harvard and Chicago are the most alike, based on big city location,

I applied to Princeton, Dartmouth, and Cornell. I certainly consider Chicago a match, and I would be quite happy to be accepted. It does have a rather high acceptance rate, but as is quite often pointed out, the applicant pool is very self selective.

Accepted EA
Harvard, Columbia, Yale and Princeton.

yale, princeton, columbia, brown, penn

chicago is definitely near/at the top of my list though.

It'll be a miracle if i get in as it is. no ivies for me!

harvard and columbia

my S applied EA to UofC and was accepted. He also applied to Harvard.

Accepted EA, also applied to Harvard and Yale (and UIUC!)

Also applied to Penn and Brown, though Stanford trumps them both. I'd probably go to Chicago over Penn or Brown.

"Accepted EA
Harvard, Columbia, Yale and Princeton." --dressagechick

moi aussi

Hey! Do you any of you guys go to New Triar? I used to live in Wilmette...just wondering!

I didnt apply to any Ivies.

I applied to no Ivies. I was considering Brown for a while, but when I visited I felt no real connection with the campus. therefore, no.
