(last year we were 19th). I will get a lil supplement letter from coach but i'm not good enough for recruitment for Division I schools, but will prolly be good enough to run DIII...but would my times help me get into U Chicago? i dunno if D III works like this..

PLLLLLLLLZ be honest...THANKS for the time (i realized that this is a long post...)

If it weren't for the athletics I think that that applying RD to Chicago might be better. Your junior year grades are not going to help with admissions to Chicago or most of the schools on your list. Your first semester senior grades would show that you have turned that trend around. Using track as an excuse for your grades is not going to fly.

I think that you should talk to the coaches at the schools on your list. At DIII schools, athletics doesn't always offer offer a huge bump, but it may help to mitigate your junior year grades. I am not familiar with dealing with coaches and such - but I do know that you need to start a conversation early on so as to get useful feedback.

Also, please be aware that over half of the schools on your list are REALLY HARD. If you want to play the athletic card, they will want to feel confident that you can manage sports and academics - again, the junior year grades come into play - especially with Columbia and JHS.

yea track WAS the reason why my grades dropped i think...junior year was a key year for me cuz i really wanted to get recruited by a D1 school...and when that fell apart...i kinda lost everything...(college essay might be on that. will that be a good idea? will colleges just c that as like me trying to make an excuse?) i think this year, my team will get into top 10 in state...if we lucky...we MIGHT qualify for nike team nationals (HOPING!)...but thanks very much for ur input!

Not to be mean but if your trying to qualify for nike team nationals then your team shouldnt have a problem winning states let alone getting top 10

Four of the schools that you've listed (Rochester, NYU, WashU and Chicago) are in the UAA. The others are Emory, Case Western, Brandeis, and Carnegie Mellon. If you haven't considered them already, you may want to give them a look.

hellohi1, see the thing with nike team nationals is NOT all the teams in the state even do that (shhhhh....)....SO...out of the teams that do try out for it.....we might stand a good chance...(fingers crossed...)
