Has anyone auditioned at the Unifieds in the last year or two that could share their experience? Particularly, was suprised you need to set aside 4 hours when there is no dance audition. Any specifics would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! I am a senior male who went through Chicago Unifieds for Ithaca and other colleges. Ithaca was my first one and overall it was one of my favorites. Chicago auditions are a bit crammed and people are constantly bustling around everywhere, but they made it comfortable. The four hour slot begins with a 45 minute meeting with students, parents, and the head of the MT program. He is straight with everyone about their program and opens the floor for any questions. This was nice because it felt like the school was not hiding anything. The actual four hour time slot it not used though. After the meeting, they told us what time each person was, so you could go to other schools, come back and audition. Once you audition you are completely done. They even said that if you scheduled another audition, you could miss your time slot and come back at the end of the four hour slot. They were very accommodating. Luckily, I just received my acceptance letter for Musical theatre class 2015, which I’m happy about. Goes to show that you have no less of a chance when auditioning in Chicago.
