chico state

Does anybody know anything about CSU Chico? My friends ridicule it (it has a party school reputation), but I've seen some supporters of it on CC and it has produced some impressive alumni.

Chico is a great town. Chico State can be a great school. It has the party school reputation but like most campuses with a similar rep, it is not a requirement for a social life. My high school has sent many students there and I have never heard of anyone NOT loving their experience, even the non-partiers have a positive time. I actually know a couple who have graduated in 3 years. They have wonderful ag and ag business programs and teacher training is one of their strong points as well. If it has a program you are drawn to and you want a school set in a quaint Northern CA town where you won’t have such heavy competition for classes, don’t let the party school rep dissuade you.

My kids weren’t interested because “everyone” goes there from our high school.

If you’re into sustainability, Chico State is great about that. Plus, Chico’s Bidwell Park is enormous and is one of the top 10 largest city parks in the nation.
