There are four Thai restaurants on the Delmar loop, freshly made sushi and chinese food in the DUC, and Mongolian stir fry in Bear’s Den on the south 40. This is in addition to the approx. 8000 other food options within a mile of campus, more if you want to ride the Metro to the Central West End or Brentwood (where there’s also a P.F. Chang’s).

That being said, sushi is my favorite food and I don’t think the sushi on campus is too good. Neither is the Chinese food at the DUC, even though it’s popular and I get it quite often. There’s an all-you-can-eat sushi place on the Loop that I’ve heard isn’t bad. But of all places, I recommend Thai Country Cafe on the Loop. If you like Thai food, you’ll love that restaurant.

^^^ Agreed

Thai Country is legit.

Sushi in the DUC is so expensive, and it’s not really that great. Sushi on the loop is a lot better.
The Chinese food in the DUC is okay, but the stir fry in Bear’s Den and the Village is a lot better.

I’m not an expert on chinese food and sushi, but I’ve had good food at restaurants in Clayton (pretty close if you take the metro) and Ginger Bistro on the Loop.

Also, there’s a great Vietnamese place called Mai Lee that’s accessible by the metro.

This is sort of related to the whole asian food thing… is there a place where you can get bubble tea?

Yup, on the loop again. Miss it…

Yep, walkig distance. St. Louis Bubble Tea. So good.

Lots of great sushi places within short metro distance of campus
Wasabi, Tani, and Miso in Clayton
Drunken Fish in CWE
Another Wasabi, and Mizu downtown

The loop has a place, too… forgot the name

Well, they’re definitely not gonna be as good as the Asian food you get in Asia, for sure. But they’re edible.

Like someone else has said, sushi at the DUC is pretty expensive. I think it tastes decent though. Good option if you’re trying to get rid of excess meal points (this was what I did hehe).

There’s a sushi place on the loop called Blue Ocean, it serves decent sushi, though if you’re looking to get have a meal there just eating sushi it can get a little pricey.

There is decent stir-fry (oddly, my mom, who is a Chinese-food Nazi, loves it) in the Bear’s Den, and you can buy sushi at Paws&Go (both in the residential area), and a good Chinese food station in the DUC, although they serve nearly the same stuff day after day. There are also a sushi station and a noodles station there (haven’t tried either). I love Chinese food, and I miss the variety at home (CA, not Asia).

On the loop off campus, there is Ginger Bistro (a lot of people like it, but to me, it tastes artificial) that has $5 lunch deals. There are also some nice Thai restaurants, like Thai Pizza and Thai Country Cafe. St. Louis Bubble Tea is a refreshing touch, but the bubble tea is not great. There are some sushi places as well. If you have a car (not allowed freshman year) or know someone who does, there is a strip of good Korean places not far away in University City.

Overall, though, I personally frequent some of the places I listed because they’re still Chinese food or sushi. There are lots of Asians at Wash U, and I haven’t really heard any complaints.

k, let chinese ans u the question. i really like bd and duc’s chinese food although most other chinese students dont like the duc’s one as much.
there are quite a few authentic chinese restaurants on olive street, if someone gives u a ride.

superzhkch, hat the f*** did I just read? Do you have any idea how unclear/unhelpful your post was for people who aren’t currently attending Wash U?

Oh, and use proper grammar. You’re not texting.

Sincerely,
Everyone
