Choate vs Hotchkiss vs Andover

Hi everyone! First of all I want to congratulate everyone who got accepted.
Also whoever got waitlisted, I hope you get good news!

I got accepted to several school and I narrowed it down to 3 so far.
I am planning to revisit at most 2 schools. Can you guys compare these 3 schools?

I read vivsters' thread and I have common questions, so I am using vivisters' Q List.

How would you compare these three schools in the following categories?

Academics (is it challenging?):

Courses (are there a lot to choose from?):

Visual Arts programs/facilities/teachers (Is it competitive? I play the flute):

Sports (especially golf) (coaches, facilities, etc.):

FOOD:

Dress code:

Cliques:

Teachers (are they nice, are they snobbish, etc.):

Clubs (are students very involved):

College Matriculation:

Prestige:

Legacy/rich kids (are they very snobbish? or are they nice people?):

Campus (size, scenery, buildings):

Dorms:

Free time:

Weekend life:

Safety:

Accessibility to big cities:

Thanks guys!

I would have to say Andover is the place to go.

I really love Andover, but over 1000 students make me hesitate.
My heart is leaning towards Choate, but I want to know more about different schools.

student/faculty ratio is still small.

Yea but I still think 1000 is pretty big.
I go to a school with over 1700 students, so I crave small student body.

Hotchkiss has 8% day students, Choate and Andover have more like 20-25%. That’s a pretty big difference. Hotchkiss’ campus is more natural than Choate’s. PA has a nature preserve which is beautiful, and Hotchkiss has something similar plus it’s set on a lake. Hotchkiss is the smallest of the three schools.

I’d suggest revisiting if you can manage it. You’re going to live there for quite a while after all! :)

I will try my best to revisit.
I got a quick question. I am entering as a sophomore. Does my current freshman grade added to final GPA? How does it work?
