Hello!
I am a senior living in south Jersey and I applied to UPitt Nursing earlier this month, hoping I would get accepted into the main campus. I received my acceptance email today, however, it wasn’t to the main campus but to Johnstown. I am very disappointed as I really wanted to get into the main campus. Is there any way to get into the main campus now instead of transferring one or two years later? What if I sent in my mid-year grades? Are the decisions absolute?
Pitt was one of my top schools and I am very dejected as this is my first reply from any colleges I have applied to thus far.
Hello!
We do offer a process for reconsideration, however, less than ten percent of those requests result in a new decision and those that do are accompanied with significant new academic information, such as updated SAT/ACT scores and senior year grades. If you plan to pursue reconsideration, please email oafa@pitt.edu with your request and also detail what new academic information you plan to provide. Submission of supplemental information, such as recommendation letters, will not result in a new decision.
You can view the academic profile of students offered admission to the Pittsburgh campus here:

@hailtopitt1787 thank you so much! I am planning on sending in my mid term senior year grades.
Hello, I am a current student in the school of nursing. I will be blunt with you, internal transfers into the school of nursing are near-impossible. The last time I talked to one of my friends who was attempting to do this, there were only one or two internal transfers accepted each year, and they had to maintain a 3.5 GPA in order to remain in the program. That is simply from a different degree program, I cannot imagine how difficult the transfer rate is across campuses. I would say your best best is to re-submit grades and maybe a supplimental essay rather than banking on transferring after a few years. Best of luck!!
