Okay, so I want to take a science AP. Chem is completely out of the question. I did perfectly in honors, but in AP everyone has a C or lower. It's not worth it, especially since it does not interest me at all. Bio is somewhat interesting but tough. If it remains two blocks next year as well, I probably won't take it. AP ES is interesting to me and seems very easy, except that the new AP Bio teacher will start teaching this next year and I'm not sure if she'll make it easy or not (she's a fanatic for science). I've been struggling in physics this year (and by that, I mean being in the A- range.. LOL... still it makes me uncomfortable)

Currently, I'm in precalc/trig HN with an A for first two quarters, a 97 the 1st, a 93 the second (I had one really bad test). No one has an A in BC and my precalc teacher also teaches AB and there are some A's... I'm not the best in my precalc class, but I'm in the A range. Should I go on to BC or AB? Is it worth it to take the more challenging option eve if I have no intent to go into any math related fields?

if you’re not going into a math-related field, why waste your time on BC? i’m in the same situation as you, calc-wise, and even though i’m a little worried that it’ll be too easy, i’m taking AB so i can focus on AP Euro and Psych. if you’re not interested in math or science, i’d suggest taking the easier classes in both of them and taking the hardest classes available in the area you’re focusing on. it looks bad to take the easy way out on everything, but it makes sense to not take killer classes that you don’t care about so that you can do your best in the classes that are important to you.

Take the easier classes if you know you will be accepted to your colleges. Take the harder ones if you are applying to more selective schools.

Even if you aren’t planning to be a Math major, selective schools like to see that you took four years of Math. Just take AB instead of BC or something. This is my schedule (I’m a Sophomore).

No need to mention Freshmen year, since they’re not allowed to take APs.

Sophomore: AP World History, AP Biology, Pre-Calc, English H, Spanish H, Chem H
Junior: AP US History, AP Env Science, AP Statistics, AP Lit, Spanish H
Senior: AP Government, AP Chem, AP Calc BC, AP Lit 2, AP Psych

Currently, the AP Bio is killing me. I have a B-. Hopefully I can bring it up to an A- by the end of the year. And this is why I’m leaving off AP Calc BC and AP Chemistry until senior year, when I should be taking it next year. So I guess what I’m trying to say is you should make a decent balance between your GPA and course rigor.

I’m looking towards a Psychology/Environment (Maybe Political Science) major.
