I need your help picking an american uni to go on an exchange to, I'm from Australia!
I only have a limited number of universities available to me and the top ones I've chosen are: Colorado State Uni, University of Virginia or Butler University.
I want a school in a beautiful location with a GREAT party scene, I'm looking for the full American college experience, so lots of parties please! Also friendly people :) I'm 20 so I won't be legal although I'll have an Australian fake ID so yeah, advice please :)

ooh I also have SUNY oswego as well! another option. thanks!

I’m not sure what the question is. You have to be accepted right? And you chose the ones you want ot apply to and?

Look at a map of the US. The continental US is about the same size as Australia. This is a big place. In many parts of the country, public transportation between cities is non-existent or very inconvenient. So, think about what you want to see in the US, then use Google Maps to find out how to get to those places from the universities you might study at. For many exchange students this is what decides where they will attend.

Are there any outdoor sports you like, or that you want to try? If you care about skiing, drop Butler from your list. It will be too difficult to get to the slopes from there.

As for party life for an Australian exchange student, the experts on that would be students from your own university who have done their exchanges at the places on your list. Ask the exchange coordinator to help you get in touch with some returned students (or with students currently studying here) for their advice.

If you are serious about the drinking, why don’t you do your exchange in Canada instead? You won’t need a fake ID.

yeah but acceptance is relatively easy because all of the universities are part of an agreed program, plus my marks are great! And the party life is something I’m interested in, but also the outdoors, I love hiking and I love mountains. I’ve done a bit of skiing and I was hoping I’d be able to while I was there so thanks for the advice, I wasn’t too sure about Butler anyway! And I’ve spent a bit of time in Canada already and I’m not sure I want to spend another six months there, I wanted to try something new
Mainly I was just hoping someone with experience of colleges on here would know the most exciting and beautiful place to go, not sure if I posted on the right forum?
