Choosing between BC, UVA, and UMich

Which one would you choose, and why?

Which one has the best reputation?

depends on your major

I'm interested in the social sciences, such as philosophy, political science, economics, history, and English.

I want to ask for YOUR opinion. I do not want you to make the choice for me.

I've visited UVA and BC so i can at least talk about those two. Obviously UVA is much bigger so it depends on what you want. Big schools are usually better for someone who has a distinct career goal vs broad liberal arts which it seems like you like. UVA is more of a party school and has frats and sororities, which BC doesnt have. BC has close access to a big city, UVA doesnt. so theres pros and cons for both. also, both are considered to be preppy, which can be good or bad. obviously i liked BC more, especially because i found the students to be more down to earth, but that is just my personal opinion.

Well for one thing, they all their distinctive regional aspects, Midwest, South, and New England. I would say all are pretty much equal in reputation, BC may have a stonger alumni network though. Also, you interests seem very well suited to BC and what the school is all about, we have one of the best philosophy departments in the country. For somebody who is interested in humanities/social sciences, the Jesuit thing typically is a big draw.
