Should I take APs that don’t necessarily relate to my future interests? I am pursuing the medical field but I was wondering if colleges care which classes I take. For example, should I take a class like AP Art History and AP Spanish just for the extra GPA point or should I take a normal class like Biotechnology and Anatomy? Will colleges like the AP or normal class more in my case?
Thank you for all input
Im self studying every single history class and i wanna be a surgeon. I wanna take AP cal, stats, Physics AP and AP phsyics c and i don’t even wanna be an engineer. Its better to make yourself well rounded student.
I think it would be good to have an AP in at least each core subject. So for example, AP Lit (English), AP US History (Social Science), AP Biology (Science), AP Calc (Math), and AP Spanish (Foreign Language).
What grade are you in? Are you going to be a junior? If you’re going into the medical field, then its great that you know what you want to do. However, right now you should just be focused on getting into college. AP Classes I would recommend for someone wanting to pursue a career in medicine? AP Calc (AB or BC), AP Stats, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics (Some variation). However, don’t load up on APs for the heck of it. You can also do a few dual-enrollment classes, or like you mentioned that biotechnology class would be great and so would anatomy.
I mean I would say take the AP classes that interest you, because the suggested limit I believe is 4-8 AP classes total.
