Choosing classes

As a person who wants to major in computer science and minor in buisness what should my freshman schedule look like for the fall. note: i'm deciding on taking 4 courses this fall

i would strongly recommend not taking four classes your first term on campus. period. it's a lot of work, and a lot of time to spend not meeting new people and finding your place on campus. Your first term should be about getting into the swing of things and figuring out what you're interested in outside of academics.

furthermore, you should get a sense of how you actually want to pursue your business minor.

We don't have a business department. It would have to be economics that you minor in.

Ditto righnotleft. There's no point in taking 4 classes in the fall. And CS classes require a TON of time in the lab. You won't even be in the library, which is somewhat social.

four classes? that's supposed to be a lot?

taking 4 classes for 3 terms would be equivalent to taking 6 classes per semester. remember that under the D-plan, you only have 10 weeks to complete the course

I see. thanks for the clarification.

Well if those four classes are RUSS 13, ENGS 10, PSYC 40, and ARAB 62, then no, that is not a lot at all. In fact, that's probably all less than MATH 71, combined.

For 'shizzle.

Taking four classes isn't just stressful, but (in my opinion) it takes away from your learning experience too. You won't be able to learn as much from each class as you could. Sure, you might end up with 4 As that term, but personally, I prefer getting the most from 3 classes and maybe auditing that fourth class.
