I want to eventually do HAAS and get my MBA, but I’m not sure what’s the easiest major to get into/ what relates most to this future goal.
These are the majors I’m thinking about:
- Operations Research and Management
- Applied Mathematics
- Economics
Also, there is no bachelor’s in accounting or finance; I’m applying as a freshman.
ORMS, applied math, and economics are all in the UCB College of Letters and Science (L&S), where all students enter undeclared. Admission selectivity does not differ by major for UCB L&S applicants.
Students wanting to major in business apply in their second year for the business major; admission is competitive. ORMS and economics are “full” majors, where a GPA higher than 2.0 in the prerequisites is needed (currently 3.2 for ORMS and 3.0 for economics) to declare the major. Applied math is currently not “full”, so just getting a 2.0 GPA and C grades in the prerequisites allows declaring the major.
