choosing major

i got accepted into the college of engineering as a civil engineering major, i'm not really sure if that is what i want to do in life. when do i have to make a final decision on choosing a major, and would it affect me a lot if i want to change to another college, say the college of earth and mineral sciences?

I think you declare a specific type of major [ie. aerospace, mechanical, civil, electrical, etc.] at the end of your sophomore year. That is what I hear.

Yes that's correct. You declare a major at the end of your sophomore year and you have to make sure you've completed all of the freshmen and sophomore courses required for entrance in the major. You'll be given an orange booklet with all of the required courses but it's your responsibility to schedule and pass them.

When/where do we get this "orange booklet" that says the required classes for a specific major?
