<p>Are incoming transfer studen allow to choose/request their roommates?</p>
<p>I read it on their website ([Home</a>, Campus Living Website, University Life & Services - University at Buffalo](<a href=“http://www.ub-housing.buffalo.edu/]Home”>http://www.ub-housing.buffalo.edu/)) that you could request for a roommate, but the request must be mutual. You can go to the website and find out by yourself. So bad that they don’t take any other of your requirements, so for an international student like me who doesn’t want to stick with the people from the same country, but also doesn’t have a way to find a native person to send out a mutual request, there’s little left to do.</p>
<p>There are several UB facebook pages including a couple of “unofficial” ones where I have seen people post looking for a roommate - you might try that. It would also do no harm to call or contact the international admissions office and explain that you don’t have a roommate preference per se, just don’t want to room with another international student. They might be willing to consider that request.</p>
