I have to take SAT II in about 3 months but i cant decide which subjects to choose.
I SUCK at Math, physics and chem so Im considerin Math 2, US history and mayb Bio E. what do u guys think?
Is Bio E rlly hard? Can I prepare enough for the US history test in only a 3-month time?
Btw, which books do u recommend ?

US History II is a walk in the park to study for if you have 3 months… I’m assuming you’ve taken US history classes for school though. If you haven’t, it might be more difficult. If you have, you already have a huge foundation and just need to read over to refresh yourself and prepare for the specifics. You can get a fair amount right without studying at all, especially if you’ve taken APUSH.

If you took APUSH, I highly recommend taking the US History Subject Test. It is essentially the same as the mc section on the ap test. I took the Bio E subject test but definitely do not recommend taking it. On the June test they had 4-5 questions in the supposedly Ecology only section that had nothing to do whatsoever with ecology (ex.organ systems). I did not take the Math II subject test.

US HISTORY!! It’s my favorite subject ever lol. To answer you question it depends how good you are in with US history. For example, in New York State you must take a regent exam in US history and I believe it was pretty hard for an average person whom studied but did get into the nity gritty in the subject. For me personality, I was extremely shocked that New York State would gave stalwart question but I still enjoyed it and ending up getting a 95/100. So it really depends. But still practice just in case. Its never too late to practice. Start tommorow!!

thanks for the info. unfortunately im an international student (asian) so basically, i know nothin abt US history. So can I somehow still pull it off? any books recommended?

US history? Go with REA’s crash course. It gives you the main points of America’s history, plus a bunch of little facts that the SAT test tests you on.

For math and bio, I went with Barron’s. Bio E is ok. The curve isn’t that great. How much background knowledge do you have? If you’re starting from scratch, you’re gonna have to memorize a lot. It’s generally not advised if you don’t know anything about bio.

And for math, focus on algebra, and practice practice practice c:

Bio E and Bio M are the same difficulty, but M is more respected. Take M, unless you plan to major in Environmental Science or Evolutionary Biology, or are a lot more confident with E material. I thought Bio E was really, really easy, but I also love science and had just taken AP Bio.

Have you taken courses (preferably AP/honors) in all of those subjects? They would really, really, really suck to cram.
