I want to major in business and I've listed out schools that I'm goign to be applying to.
NYU Stern is my #1 choice, but i'm also applying to harvard, upenn, uva, carnegie mellon, rutgers and a few others. my problem is that rutgers is my only "safety school." i need some suggestions on schools i shouldn't have too big of a problem getting into. thanks!

here are my numbers:
sat 2060
act 33
gpa probably around 3.5 unweighted (ranked 16 out of 310 in my grade)
i'm very involved in extra curriculars (marching band, varsity tennis captain, key club vp, fbla, nhs, fhs, etcetc)

I always recommend the Catholic schools for business. Try Villanova, Santa Clara, Holy Cross.

"I want to major in business ...i'm also applying to harvard"

Umm, I assume you know that Harvard doesn't have a business major.

they do have business economics. but i'm really just applying to harvard because my parents want me to give it a try just for the heck of it.

^ Nope. Business Economics is a graduate Ph.D program only. There's no undergrad major in "business economics."

There is no business economics, there is economics. lol.

oh well. i'm really not looking to go there. i'm applying just to see if i can get in.

^ Please, please don't apply just to see if you can get in.

Add university of Michigan, University of Virginia, and UNC and maybe University of Washington. If you're going to apply to Harvard, I dare you apply to MIT and UC Berkley!

I wonder how many applications Harvard gets every year because of that, and how much of an effect it has at depressing their already well-depressed acceptance rate. Le sigh....

Who pays $70-80 (I didn't feel like looking it up) to apply to a school that doesn't even have your major and/or you don't even WANT to go. It has nothing to do with everyone else's chances, more to do with the fact that $70 can buy a lot of things. If my parents gave me $70 to apply to Harvard, and I didn't want to go, they'd see a fake Harvard rejection letter, while I'm at the mall.

But maybe that's because I have to pay part of my own application fees.

haha wow you make me sound like a horrible person because of this...i don't understand why it's such a big deal.
