I’m a nursing major and all my classes will be in Mcdowell Hall with maybe an hour break next year, but I can’t decide whether I should live in the towers or on the green near the library. What are your experiances living in the towers. Is it annoying to be dependant on the bus, is the ditance from mcdowell to north campus very far? Are the towers safe? But then again the library is on the green.
my daughter lived in the towers last year. I don’t think safety ever came into question for her. She felt the busses were very reliable from North Campus… unlike waiting for the bus as a freshman on West Campus where they never came. She used the busses regularly unless it was a beautiful day and wanted to walk. I can’t say anything as to the South Green housing but if it’s closer to the nursing classes and you are in class for long periods of time it may be worth it to stay down in that direction.
the north campus is not the worst place to live. distance is not a major issue… but the walk, well cleveland ave is not always a fun place to walk at night for women. you can check the newark police crime map.
