I was just wondering what the cinema program is like at Binghamton. Overall, the school seems excellent; however, I was curious as to whether or not the cinema program meets those same standards of excellence. If anyone knows, please drop a reply. I would greatly appreciate it.

I took my first cinema class this semester and loved it. My professor definitely knew her stuff; she’s had a ton of stuff published on the films we watched, and her classes were really stimulating and interesting. My boyfriend is very into film and took Intro Cinema. He enjoyed it and I guess it was up to his standards, if that means anything to you, haha.

Overall I wouldn’t say Binghamton is particularly known for its cinema program but it’s definitely solid. There’s a lot of course options and there’s a showcase program here that screens films (often international) a few times during each semester for a few dollars. I went once, to watch a Werner Herzog documentary, and it was cool.
