Cisco Networking Academy Impact?

Hi CC!
I have a quick question that will probably determine my high school career.
I'm currently a freshman taking:
Speech and Debate (lame class I shouldn't have chosen, but I had no choice) 1 Semester
Foundations of World History 1 Semester (required by district, I would have taken AP World)
PE (required by district)
AP Computer Science
Spanish 3
Chemistry
Honors Freshman Composition
AP Calculus AB

The thing is, our school has a Cisco networking academy that claims to provide 20 college credits. My question is, is it worth taking it, and will MIT consider this, since it WILL take up 2 periods that could of been AP classes.
Help!

You should do what you want to do. If the Cisco networking thing sounds interesting, you should do it. You can self-study any APs you would have missed taking and take the exams without the classes in May. I doubt MIT will accept transfer credit for the networking academy, if that’s what you’re wondering. I don’t know how much it’ll help on your MIT application, but doing what you’re passionate about always looks good. :)
