how hard is it to get into as a chemE major?

Easier than it is to get in as an EE major, but I'm not sure exactly.

electrial and computer engineering are lumped into a category and all other engineering majors are lumped in another category. the former is harder to get in than the latter.

chemE and EE are each just as competitive. chemE - because of it's versatility and involvement of chemistry (which many see as a chance open up the route to both studying chem. and engineering) - is competive and EE - because it involves circuits, elec., magnetism,etc.. (a lot of students like this stuff) - is competitive.

I was referring to how CMU will admit people to all engineering except ECE or all engineering and waitlist people for ECE.

ugh is it even worth applying as a chemE major? what is the average sat of cit?
