Citizenship vs. Global Cultures? And Orientation Q's?

Hello,

I want to apply to either the Citizenship or the Global Cultures dorm as part of Emory '14 but I feel that I don't know enough about them to choose- what are the pros and cons of both and.. what are they exactly?

And if I want to pick a roommate, does that roommate also have to apply for the type of housing I applied to? (sorry if that's a dumb question)

Lastly, for those of you who live fairly far from Atlanta (I live 14 hours by car), do you plan to go back home after the orientation on the 21st or just stay there until the first day of school?

Thanks in advance (:

Wait what? I guess you are going to international orientation or something? Orientation takes a while, and you will be busy right up until the first day of class with all kinds of things.

Nope, I think orientation lasts a couple of days, so you’ll be there till school starts basically. I think Global is in Longstreet-Means, which is the brand new building. Apparently, the dorms are all suite style in there. I can’t tell you much about the programs, but I know that they don’t really require alot of time and commitment. You’re roomie should apply for the same dorm as you; it increases your chances of getting that dorm. But if one of you get it and the other doesn’t, you have the choice for a random roomie, or to go to their dorm. Hope this helps!
