@curiousscience I have not yet received any email as well. I’m hoping it’s as you say but if that’s the case we may be at a disadvantage for the second round-if we get in that is :-S
im so sorry you got rejected. if you think about it, the people who read the papers are researchers who probably didnt read the letter of rec or look at your transcript beyond making sure you didnt have any failing grades. Its definitely not holistic so stats do not really matter (its actaully scored on a rubric from what I read on the website)… its more of what you put on your application itself ?? maybe they were looking for ppl who had specific focuses in biomed already ? Theres always next year though good luck !
everyone accepted is guaranteed a spot so if your acceptance is late, it wont matter
I emailed them yesterday since I haven’t gotten an email at all…I’ll let you guys know what they say. I think they release in waves
Has anybody received an offer from a PI yet?
@curiousscience @biologynerd110 did you guys get any emails yet?
No, although it’s already been a few days. I don’t believe they will reply at this point. For those of you who were accepted, when did you submit your application? They may be sending emails after first reviewing those who submitted early, or maybe those who are out of state.
I was part of the academy last year–good luck to everyone who has applied! It is an incredible program. Usually how it works is that once you are accepted into the first round, you must find a PI and once you do this you have to see if there is funding available/left for you (you can send an email to one of the program administrators for this info once you find your PI). Stephanie will send you an email after your funding is secured and send you paperwork (and you will chose the dates you will be there). At this point you are considered to be accepted to the program–however, official acceptance emails don’t come until all your paperwork is in which is somewhere around May. Feel free to PM me with questions if you have them, I would love to help–I know the CoH application process struggle is real.
I really wanted to get into this program, but I haven’t received any email yet… @kikirad Was the email process at once for your group or did they do it in waves? I’m getting more annoyed by the day
Just got an from Stephenie just a half hour ago; responses are still being sent out Tonight (west coast time)
anxiously waiting for that inbox number to go up by 1
@cakeboy1022 Did you make it to the second round? Hopefully she’s not just sending rejection emails at this point.
any email yet?
Do you have a PI? @asparagus11
Got placed on waiting list… What are the chances of being accepted from the waiting list? Also how many people are usually allocated to the waiting list each year?
I’m on the waitlist too…I’m on the waitlist for HSHSP but I got accepted into a paid internship so I might just do that instead.
@cakeboy1022 I emailed them and all of the emails were sent out by today.
Yep wait list for me too. I’m gonna guess not many people decline this program though.
@kikirad No, I am on the waitlist. Do you know what the likelihood of getting into the actual program is for people on the waitlist is?
I’m not very sure, but once you are waitlisted you are kinda at a disadvantage because everything (funding, lab openings) is on a first come first serve basis. I think the program is smaller because of funding this year (but not positive) so this might make things a little more difficult if you do end up getting off the waitlist. Best of luck.
