Iām going to send out PIs all throughout this week (probably one a day) while I deal with maybe cancelling my University of Utah research internship admission, but Iāll have to deal with that when that arises haha

@Ipapadakis3 What did he/she say? Do you have to do an interview, or just send in your resume?
I guess the neuroscience people or busy because I still havenāt heard from mine. Iāll probably send a few more tomorrowā¦do you think itāll be too late then or will I have time?
@JuicyMango he literally said 1 line asking for a cv. Problem is I donāt have much research experienceāhow should I go about writing it? Last summer and the one before I spent in and out of the hospital due to an illness
I also go to a highly competitive boarding school (#1 in the country) but we have class 8-6 and like 7 hrs of HW a night so during the school year I canāt do research unless itās through a class

@Ipapadakis3 Well you can list your scores and extracurricular activities (clubs/awards). Explain that you werenāt able to do previous research due to your illness, and maybe say you have the knowledge to do scientific research because (I assume) you took AP science classes at your school. And mention that you go to a highly competitive boarding school, he/she will understand the situation.
Yeah I got the email from Mike Chen too. I think its kind of unfair that people who did it last year are able to do it again, because theres no way we can compete with them. From what Iāve seen, these PIās have already hand-selected the candidates they want to work with. I guess I need to send off a few more emails now :/.
Yeah, thatās what I said in my email to him. Hereās hoping heās ok with it. Luckily he works in thoracics and I had lung issues those two summers so he should understand :). And @JuicyMango yes Iām upset that it has worked out that way.

I got three repliesāDr. Chen and Dr. Talisman said they already filled their student positions. I also got a reply that simply asked for my CV which I sent.

and I actually mentioned in my emails that if the PI couldnāt take me if they could give me names of others who might be interested, so one person gave me a few. I figured if I mentioned that their colleague had recommended I contact someone not on the list that maybe they wouldnāt mind me bugging them
@JuicyMango have you looked at Dr. Christine Brown? Sheās working with T cell to kill brain tumors but sheās listed under hematology so not sure if you emailed her! I just sent her an email so why donāt you go shoot her one too! In total Iāve sent 10 emails, 7 of which are on the email list and 3 who werenātā¦I think I should stop now? @MissfutureENT no, I think thatās ok. I just sent more since it seemed like neuro was going super fast. I mean you can if you want but itās really up to you!
