Civil Engineering-UMass Amherst vs Clarkson University

Hey folks.

I’m currently a student at Clarkson University. I did well in my first year (3.966 gpa, multiple extracurriculars, a summer internship). However, issues stuck out about Clarkson:

-The student body doesn’t seem to be passionate about working hard, more C’s get degrees. I realize this will still be common at UMASS.
-The food at Clarkson is awful.
-Clarksons location sucks, though this honestly is a moot point as it’s relevant maybe twenty days of the year save for the winter.
-The campus is ugly. Once again, not a huge point.
-UMass offers a slightly better civil engineering program.

However, Clarkson is rated highly for program strength and career placement. That being said, I’d hope that with my GPA and extracurriculars, I don’t need to lean on the career center as hard.

(I realize wine factors for UMass are kinda ‘weak’, however they are significant contributors to my mental (and physical) health at Clarkson and things I’d like to change.

What are peoples thoughts? Is it worth it to rock the boat for a shot at being happier at UMass? Or should I stick with tried and true and attempt to cope with Clarkson?

*some factors for UMass. Typing on a phone is difficult.
