civil/structural engineering: construction vs design

I know that there's more to civil and structural engineering than construction and design out of these two which do you guys prefer? After reading and starting some threads I'm becoming more interested in the construction aspect. I was wondering if anyone can describe the typical job functions for someone in construction?

I don't know too much about the topic, but I'm going into the engineering field, but from all the research I've done I would prefer the structural.
