Civil vs. Construction Engineering

Hi. Currently I am majoring in civil engineering. After graduation, I want to work in the constructional sub-discipline of civil engineering such as building houses, offices, apartments, buildings. I read the wikipedia page Civil engineering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia about civil engineering and construction engineering was part of the sub-disciplines. My school offers also a construction engineering major and I was just wondering if I should switch to constructional engineering instead rather than staying as a civil engineering major.

You should stick with civil engineering. It has a broader scope and will give you more opportunities after graduation. At the same time, it will not prevent you from entering the construction side of the field.

Ok. That’s a relief. Thank you very much.
