can someone explain the clairmont campus a little bit? i'm a sophomore transfer and i want to live in a dorm that i can easily make friends in

Are you saying that you are CURRENTLY a sophomore elsewhere and will be transferring to Emory as a junior? Or are you saying that you will be transferring into Emory as a sophomore?

Clairmont Campus housing is primarily (some exceprtions exist) for upper class students (Juniors/Seniors) and graduate students. If you will be transferring into Emory as a sophomore, then you would generally not be able to get housing at the Clairmont Campus. The demand is great for housing at the Clairmont Campus, and presently there is a waiting list; however, just recently, they've made some announcements at Emory Res Life whereby some grad student housing will be designated for juniors/seniors. There are always going to be changes in the works.

It seems that most students make adjustments regarding their dorms. There are pluses/minuses to each, but the community is what you make of it. I'm sure that if you reach out to others, you'll be fine. Also, the RA's and Sophomore Advisors in each dorm can be helpful.
