CMC is better known for its social sciences, but is it good for bio/premed?

Apparently the 2008 med school acceptance rate for CMC grads was 100% and they've gotten into med schools like JHU and HMS.

The 100% rate sounds incredible.. is it true?

How are the EC, research, etc. opportunities at CMC?

Finally, how does it compare to Pomona College, Dartmouth, and UCLA for premed?

As a student who have been taking courses at the Joint Science Department (JSD), shared by CMC, Scripps, and Pitzer, I can attest that the courses really prep you. Iono if its really 100% for CMC grads or 83% for all three colleges, but one thing we do have at JSD is a premed committee…
I cant compare to Pomona courses, since i have yet to take them but there have been quite a lot cross registration between the colleges. Some courses are easier at JSD, some easier at Pomona (so just really depends on the professors, not the schools)

Research opportunities are not as hard to get as say UCLA or Darthmouth, since we have fewer students and generally the profs are very helpful. However, the variety of research projects are limited compared to big schools.

I hope this helps. Ultimately visit each school and dont just choose based on which school has the higher premed accept %.
