Pre-med

How good is CMC's premed program? I know Pomona's pretty strong in the natural sciences, is CMC as well? Also, a question for those who have attended or plan to attend Claremont McKenna, in what ways is it better or worse than Pomona?

90% ofstudents who apply to med school from cmc get in

i've been wondering this as well.

is Pomona's premed program better than CMC's?

i'm an entering freshman who's gonna be doing premed. in my opinion there is no real difference between CMC and pomona beyond each school's student body and cmc's emphasis on government/public policy (though these are emphasized there are plenty of connections to be made between your path towards medical school and the politics that are associated with it i.e. healthcare, ethics). i didn't visit CMC until admitted students weekend and that was probably the deciding factor. all the claremont colleges do their natural sciences through the joint sciences department (<a href="http://www.jsd.claremont.edu/%5B/url%5D">http://www.jsd.claremont.edu/</a>) so there really aren't visible imbalances between each school's program. couldn't hurt to look for yourself though:

now that i'm about to head off for claremont it seems as if there are quite a few general education course requirements at CMC. i've passed out of a few requirements with ap's (calc and physics in particular) but of course i'll be going through the intro to natural science courses. i'm psyched about going already. message me if you're coming down to visit (during the school year) and you can sleep over or something
