Clarification? Regents: Number invited, offered, accepted?

Hi everyone,

I've heard some conflicting reports on the numbers regarding the Regents & Chancellors Scholarship for UC Berkeley.

So my question is, how many people are generally candidates in a given year, how many people end up being offered the scholarship, and how many actually accept it and attend UC Berkeley?

Thanks in advance.

[ps: just curious, why is UCB's RCSA scholarship only $1k , yet they require interviews whereas UCSD's regents scholarship for instance is $2k and they don't ask for an interview? :p]

I could say that it's because UCB's UCB :), but I will not since I'm not familiar with UCSD. RSCA for UCB is only really 1k if you don't have any financial need; if you do, then it can be much more substantial.

From what I've heard/read, it goes: ~1000 invited, ~500 actually get it, ~200 accept it.

in a pamphlet we were mailed it said they interviewed 2000

This year they invited slightly over 1000 for interview (I asked the people while I was there)
