Clark Scholars 2012

I love it when the people who haven’t heard back yet start saying… “They’re cutting the weakest ones first, getting rid of the unqualified ones, geographically, alphabetically” etc. haha. Then again, if I hadn’t heard back yet, I would probably be trying to convince myself the same thing. Well, good luck to those who haven’t heard back yet haha.

so do they always send the rejections first, then the acceptances?

If you look at last year’s: no

Will they call or email for acceptance? Will they leave message if they call?

@iiClick you said your last name starts with W? so does mine, and I haven’t gotten anything yet …

@ gmarch89: TTU isn’t doing it alphabetically.

Doesn’t look like anyone got any notifications today ?

I think they’re just sorting through it randomly or in the order the received them. Once they confirm that an applicant will not be accepted, the rejection email is sent out

Also, I got an email from “Clark University” today… That scared me so much

hahah jsjratt I did too and i was pretty scared for a minute

Haha, anytime I’ve seen the word Texas, Clark, or University, I’ve tensed up and gotten nervous for a few seconds.

ok since no one’s answering my thread , can anyone help me with a problem?
this summer , I plan to and probably will continue my research from grade 9 in a cellular and molecular biology lab and I have just contacted a physics lab that accepted me.

how should i manage my time with these two?

I think you should get into Clark first before worrying about that XD

But seriously, you should probably focus on one or the other. In my experience, a lot of labs usually want you to work through the school year and maybe into the summer. I don’t know if your lab is specifically for the summer or what, but if you plan to submit projects to Intel/Siemens, and still plan on attending school, you should make sure one of your projects is really up there, cuz Siemens is seriously legit. If your lab allows you to work during the school year, you might be able to submit one proj to Siemens, another to ISEF or w/e, that’s up to you.

Just my personal opinion.

@Seriwe oh gosh, all three in one post XD
But I’m not expecting anything, better not to get hopes up >>

don’t worry, i already got rejected (: good luck to all of you though!

for the biology one, i’ve been with them since grade 9 during the school year and the summer; got 2nd in CB category last year and going again this year from research done in that lab

for the physics one; just this summer because i really like physics and i won’t have time once grade 12 starts next year D:

no siemens for canadians D:

do you think it’s feasible for me to do both this summer ? submit one to ISEF , another to sanofi biogeneius ? ROFL

oh and what cements your rejection is an e-mail from Lynda Durham with the subject:
“Clark Scholars application”

if you see that, you’re screwed

Yeah if you see something referring to “application”, “decision”, or really any combination of words in the subject line which does not include “acceptance”, it’s the super-secret code for rejection.

Also I’m wondering if the two “trolls” from earlier were legit or not (the second one seemed so unbelievable though). I guess the world may never know.

For now I’m still awaiting rejection

Heh, my (just received) rejection supports that notion. :P

Ah well. I suppose if it comes down to it, I’ll just look for local internships. 4 more applications pending, though SIMR (coming out soon :O) and CoH are very slim. HSHSP and BU might be a bit better, but I’m not terribly confident now. D:

so has anyone actually been ACCEPTED?

dude. they take like 10 people. It’s hella hard >>
