Based on last year’s thread, people began receiving notice of being placed in the top 36 applicant pool. People started receiving rejection letters a bit before that. But we’re already approaching that time and have received no notice…
At this point, with over 400 applicants, I’m starting to think that HSHSP or MITES will serve better… we’ll see.

I said almost 400, because I asked! I still don’t like the top 36 idea!

@wishhimwell – Which program?

Which program Swag Daddy?

Hey just wondering did anyone include AP scores in their application? It said just SAT and PSAT, and specified not to put anything else, but its kinda odd not to require APs too…

I didn’t put my AP score airbusfan… that’s strange other programs usually have a place for AP test scores.

Not providing AP scores is alright, since we submitted transcript, sat and PSAT already. I am more concerned about the activity page, and the two questions they asked for. We couldn’t present ourselves enough from these. It would be nice if Clark was interested in looking at academic honors, non-academic honors, and community services. That would offer a more comprehensive evaluation.

They better be doing a comprehensive evaluation for the amount of time they are taking :-)

I was reading over the application instructions and I realized I forgot to have my teachers sign the envelope after they sealed it…do you think that will hurt my chances? I know I’m being a bit paranoid but still :P

I don’t think so Tony

Welch Scholars…probably not as prestigious but I appreciate that they got back to me at a reasonable time and I was selected at UT Austin…Austin>Lubbock all day every day.

Because they’re so slow getting back I’ve already mentally planned out my summer at home…a lazy, glorious, utterly boring thing.

Clark, y u no hurry? D;

I put my AP scores down but my SAT scores came in too late for me to send in… so I’m nervous, since my PSAT scores were really bad.

I have a feeling we are getting decisions this week. This thread is going to get busy.

I don’t think this week is early to late May, hehe.

I think they said late April to early May! … But I agree results are coming out soon.

How can you know, dreamhuge? Late April to early May is a big range…

Someone did post about getting info from Durham that it can be early May. And if you read the post from last year’s threads, the process of notifications actually took a while. … Rejection emails, phone calls to certain amount of candidates, and some people didn’t hear anything until later (those seemed to be among the top 36, but not top top).

“Selection for the 2013 program will be made in late April” direct quote from email to me from Ms. Durham. I think the 1st phone call last year ( as reported on CC) was on April 16th ( Monday) …

So rejections come by email and acceptances come by phone call? Does that also mean phone calls come later?
