class dilemma whee

okay well i want? need? to take ling1 this fall (attempting to double major and take as many comm classes before spring quarter). the only way i can do that is to move my anthro discussion to be later on in the day.

problem: all the discussions right now are waitlisted for anthro.

i dont want to risk like, not being in my anthro class for not getting into a discussion.

what should i do?

Which anthro? Is it a 250-300 person class?

its around 150 in a class. (anthro12)

Interesting... both are GE classes. The former has 360. The latter has 150. Huge classes. People will drop. Linguistics 1 is offered every quarter. Anthro 12 was offered Spring but not Winter. It is offered in the fall. Ling 1 occurs more frequently. Stick to your Anthro 12 and save Ling for later. Most likely, people will drop. In that case, add the class. In the case that they are still waitlisted, you can start asking for PTE#'s to see how that works if you must take both during fall.

and you can just ask ppl in anthro if they want to switch to a morning discussion... email the people listed in your lecture on my.ucla

good idea, but then what should i do? i mean, should i just go to the discussion in the afternoon after explaining that i switched with so & so?

Email the people? It's a 150 person class. Spam them all? (OK duh not everyone is listed... still, there is a lengthy list of names.) I'd wait until a few days into the quarter.
