Class Of 07: Post Ur Junior Schedule

mcz: The IB Diploma is recognized at colleges all over the world, which is important for international students (of which there are many at my school). In the US it's seen as a challenging course of study on par with the AP track, the difference being that IB is a structured program and AP is individual classes. You choose your 6 classes according to a set of requirements:

-Language A (first language)
-Language B (second language)/second language A for bilingual diploma
-Math
-1 lab science
-1 social science
-1 elective (art, music, or one more class from any of the other groups)

IB also has supplementary requirements, like Theory of Knowledge (basically a philosophy class), the Extended Essay (a 4000-word research essay that you write in 11th grade), a creative elective (art/music/drama/journalism), community service hours, and so on. It's basically supposed to make you a well-rounded person.

Does that answer your question?

Yes...It does....

Bump Plz Bump Post Ur Junior Schedules And College Choices

We're supposed to have college choices already? Ha. I already posted my schedule, and I'm sort of but not really seriously because I'm too young too be sure about anything right thinking about the University of Chicago, Reed, Dartmouth, and Macalester.

ap chem
ap eng comp
ap his

btw, does anyone know any summer college-level programs that don't have due deadlines yet?

in the northeastern region

wow, my classes look so meager compared to the rest of you...:)

Currently I'm thinking

But I don't think my schedule would fit in in those:)

Unfortunately, for those classes, the only other acceleration I could do would be Algebra Honors...a class I already suck at. :p.

Someone said also post college choices?
Roughly, my ideas:
Grinnell
Oberlin (would be first choice, but $$$$$$)
Denison
Kenyon

..Yeah.

My school is a headache because it's small so we don't have many APs to begin with, plus they're all only one period so they overlap and cause scheduling havoc. Ah, well, here's my tentative schedule:

Creative Writing (double period...I go to an arts magnet and this is my art "major")
AP Euro
AP Calc AB
honors chem
honors spanish 3
college lit class (it's actually taught by a college prof but at my school...pretty cool)
????- unfilled extra period that my counselor refuses to get rid of because she doesn't want to readjust my other classes, so I'll probably either take a community college class or something at another high school)

As for colleges, I really don't know, and also am not really sure what kind of range my SAT/ACT scores will land me in, but I'm potentially interested in:
Fordham, Columbia (yeah right), Georgetown (ditto), George Washington, maybe NYU. we'll see...

I'm excited and nervous for junior year. It's going to be fun and busy, and it's really going to make or break my class rank.

wow lots of IB ppl next year~~
