class of 12, did ur photos matter?

just out of idle curiousity, when the application asks you for a photo of yourself, how many of you submitted one? While i doubt that it would be a matter of "ugly=out", i'm just curious to see other's opinions of this

I didn't put a photo of myself and I still got in :o

any reason why?

amy told me 2012 is hella ugly

it wont help/hurt if you didn't post anything. i think that if you know an admission officer (like one who visited your school), then it helps put your face to your app.

then again, you never now. a gorgeous applicant may not gain an edge objectively than a hideous one, however, if you were building a class, who would u be more inclined to pick self-consciously. not saying they do, but if you're hideous, i would suggest not letting the admissions people know that. it wont hurt admissions.

"any reason why?"

Because it was late at night before I sent my app. in and I didn't feel like getting my camera out.

i put the picture in.. it was just a cropped version of a prom pic from my junior year, nothing special

hell yeah, its the reason i got in.

lol jk...^^^^ and Penn '12 is the hottest class ever

"and Penn '12 is the hottest class ever"

REALLY?! swwweeetttt [=

i did. when i went to that exploring college options thing, the guy from penn teasingly called me out on being "the girl who arrived an hour early" when i stood up to ask a question. plus i was wearing a whole lot of pink. oh, and i had a personal chat with the huntsman lady when i visited, so i was hoping maybe she'd remember me too. i figured it was worth sending a picture in an attempt to get them to remember me.

in the end, i wasnt accepted to huntsman but i was to wharton. and in the end, im pretty sure it wasnt my picture that got me through.

I thought it was mandatory, so i sent it in. Had an acne breakout at the time too. but got in

i found a flattering picture so i attached it. i would only attach the picture if you look good in it

I had met my regional admissions rep at a school college fair thing. When I said goodbye to her, she reminded me to put my photo on my app. That night, I went home and immediately took a picture (same outfit, same hairstyle), which I later uploaded to my app.

I think it must have helped her remember me--I got in, and she recognized me at the Previews weekend.

I uploaded a picture of me with two thumbs up and a big smile off of Facebook. At previews, my regional rep recognized me!

I sent only a picture of myself as my application. Apparently I didn't need essays or scores or grades.
