i know how you feel, baten, showers were one of my major concerns as well. I was praying for a house with renovated bathrooms.

None of you guys have anything to worry about. I remember I was terrified of the fact that I would have to use communal showers (no divider’s, four showerheads) in a 155 year old building when I left for boarding school - actually I wasn’t aware of this but naturally learned this vital piece of information my first day in the dorms. But by the time they got around to renovating the bathrooms, putting in dividers and curtains, I actually became annoyed by the invasion of my space. I had grown to love the luxury of using 2-4 showerheads when I woke up at 5 each morning.

So you see, whatever you get, you’ll learn to love. Unless it is a tarantula that kills you. Then you will be dead. And you won’t be able to love the tarantula. Because you’ll be dead.

FroSoCo, in Adams. cool beans

FroSoCo is pretty bad. I feel sorry for you

actually FroSoCo is what i wanted. so don’t bother.

I still feel sorry for you

are you even a student?

uh dude frosoco is one of the most popular housing options; that’s why they have an additional section for it. why would it be bad?

rune, he’s a ■■■■■. don’t bother. i reported his posts, hopefully the mods delete them. just ignore him for now

Yes asian75 seems to be giving a lot of unhelpful advice. Actually, I won’t go so far as to call it advice… just unhelpful comments.

I have, however, heard from a friend of mine who’s a current Stanford student that it’s far from “everything.” I dunno what that everything is… but apparently around campus it’s known as FroSoFar or something like that? :S I’m pretty sure the dorms themselves aren’t going to be that much better or worse than the others though… As runeknightx said, if it’s that bad why would you have to write an extra essay for it? There must be some reason that people want to live there so much.

That aside, I’m pretty excited about my assignment. Apparently Wilbur has one of the best dining halls on campus And I looked at Soto’s website and 2 years ago there was a Harry Potter theme for NSO. I know that it’s probably not gonna be Harry Potter related this year but I just thought that was cool :D

yea if you look on the map, frosoco is pretty far. i believe its in the southwest area. it doesn’t appear on the printable map that stanford has on their site, but the other maps have it.

it’s on this map: http://transportation.stanford.edu/images/08-09_Parking-Map.pdf

Ricker dining hall, the one that serves FroSoCo, its rumored to be the best on campus.

It may be a little farther, but i have a bike! Who cares?

I was serious about FroSoCo. More than Half of ppl i know opted out of FroSoCo after 1 year even though it’s a 2 year program. Besides they have the additional section for it because the RF is provost or vice provost. I can’t remember. And they have guest speakers weekly ( I think). Other than that, the RF is one of the strictest on campus and it’s far from everything except engineering quad. Ricker is OK. Peanut free. and Wilbur food sucks @hpfan018. Chinese food for lunch and whatever for dinner. It’s really bad.

@ ngholsh314: I can’t believe you reported me for being a ■■■■■. *** mate. I just expressed my feeling toward your housing assignment. OMG>

@asian75

i reported you because the majority of you posts are either negative to the point of being meaningless and unhelpful (“Wilbur food sucks”), or just completely irrelevant and sometimes rude (“did you have any clothes on?”).

that’s the definition of ■■■■■, is it not?

I’m pretty sure he goes to Stanford though. At least from some of his posts: “Wilbur food sucks”…he’s right by the way…but not nearly as much as Stern’s.

Is the food at Wilbur really THAT bad? I’ve heard it several times before.

Well it depends on your definition of “bad”. I actually think the fact that you have similar food day in day out, week in week out, etc, leads to making you feel that the food is bad. But if you’re like most students yes, you’ll think Wilbur food is bad after awhile. Lag food on the other hand is really, really good. Also I never ate at Ricker, but I heard that although the food is very good, there aren’t many options. But Stern dining is the worst lol, which I had, and I still survived.

^ Thanks! Is there a good sushi joint on campus (or near campus, if it must be)?

Dang, I sound like a brat haha

There is Dancy’s Sushi near on California near San Antonio Shopping Center. Marguerite will take you there. Good and cheap sushi

@ngolsh314: How is “Wilbur food suck” negative to the point of being meaningless and unhelpful? Does that mean you only hear things that aren’t true? And someone said he/she sent in a pic and very proud of it so I was just wondering what kinda picture did he/she sent in.

From what my friend says the food there tastes just fine. Personally, whenever my parents or I cook, there aren’t that many choices. Anything we cook I’ve probably had in the last two weeks. The same goes for when I buy fast food. If I find that I’m having the same food all of the time, I can just alter my meal plan to suit.
