D’s file was complete as of 9/9/14 when they received the transcripts. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back? I notice that many of the acceptances posted above seem to be from 9/2/14. Do they do it in batches?

The first acceptances started the flow - they are getting things taken care of daily now. First look on line with mybama account. You will see that before snail mail.

I just finished my personalized tour put together by the Honors college and I honestly think it is my top school. I would like to attend. Amazing experience.

^^^That’s great to hear, why not start a thread giving your reasons, and telling us about your experience during your tour. We’d love to hear all about your visit.

Any else you’d like to mention: He is taking the ACT this morning and this score will decide if Bama is in the running!! We need that OOS waiver!!

Best wishes…and he still has a few other opps to increase his score. Bama accepts the Oct, Nov and Dec scores now of both the ACT and SAT. Has he taken the SAT? Only 2 sections to study for…math and CR.

Just to clarify for any readers…Bama doesn’t offer an OOS waiver. @tlcmommi4 is likely referring to one of the scholarships that is large enough to cover most/all of the OOS portion of the tuition. For an OOS student, an ACT 29 is a half-tuition award (plus 1250 from Eng’g). An ACT 30 essentially gets free tuition because the school gives 2/3 and engineering gives 1/3 plus 2500 per year.

Engineering gives 1/3 tuition + $2500 a year for an ACT >30? What happens if you are an engineering major and your ACT >34 do you only get $2500 then?

@scubadive

The 1/3 tuition that is given to ACT 30-31 is a supplemental to get them up to full tuition + 2500

Those who already have full tuition (ACT 32+) would get the 2500. You may not like that, but eng’g doesn’t have unlimited funds to hand out. We’re lucky that they do the 2500 and do the pricey supplemental for the ACT 30-31 kids.

Are you a NMSF?

Are you applying to Computer Based Honors? CBH kids often get add’l money.

I’m not complaining. My question was out of curiosity. No I am not a NMSF. I am not familiar with computer Based Honors.

Look into CBH…it may interest you and may be a source for more money.
