So I'm a junior this year, and I will be taking the old SAT I this weekend. Assuming I do well on it, will colleges require that I take the new SAT I as well? From what I've heard, most colleges will accept either, but some will only accept the new one. Does anyone know for sure, and if that's true, are there any lists of colleges that will only accept the new SAT I.

If I do well, I'd really like to be done with it, forever.

i think you should take the new one also... im in the same situation and i found out that a lot of colleges require the new ones...and also i havent done sat 2 writing and wont b able.... so imight as well

Depends on the college. Many LACs have said they will accept the highest composite score from the old and new SATs. But they will expect to see a writing component, whether it's Writing SAT2 (which is discontinued after Saturday) or the writing part of the new SAT. Most public universities will require only the new SAT.

Most colleges will accept both, but some won't accept the old one. Also, unless you've also taken the SAT II: Writing (which is being discountinued once the new SAT starts) it's almost pointless to take the old one. Most schools want to see your SAT II: Writing. So chances are, even if you score well on the old one, you'll probably still have to take the new one.

Yep, go ahead and take both. The best way of course is to look at the websites of the colleges you will apply to and see what they like. I think everyplace will accept the new one and there's nothing to lose by taking it, so you might as well take it,

My S's boarding school is having the juniors take the SAT this Saturday. It will be accepted by a lot of colleges, and it's good practice anyway. The new test and it's scoring are still big unknowns, so it can't hurt to have a shot at this last old test.
