Has anyone heard from the admissions office regarding his or her status on Emory's waitlist? A phone call or an e-mail (Not the one that asks you for your latest date when you wish to remain on the waiting list) ? Thanks.

My daughter has not heard anything yet from the admissions office regarding her status.

The following is a post in the parent's forum. I don't know how reliable it is, but the poster's daughter was admitted to Emory. Good luck.

"Per Emory University Admissions Office, at this point it is unlikely that they will take ANY students off of the waitlist for Emory College. Not sure about Emory's Oxford College. "

NOBODY knows about this waitlist situation except for the people in the admissions office.
But what I am asking is has anyone been contacted directly from the admissions office regarding his or her status? (Not from a friend or posts from CC.)

I just spoke to my guidance counselor and after speaking to Emory directly she said that they will not be taking any kids off the wait list. I just got into Rice off their wait list so i'm happy anyway.

mjs9....Me too....I just got off Rice WL....Most likely going there....thats weird that Emory is not taking anyone off the WL (they usually have a lower yield than Rice)

Thank you for your patience while remaining on the Emory wait list. Enrollment for the class of 2010 is now complete for the fall. The demand for first-year class positions was evident in the strong return on our April 1 offers of admission. I am sorry that positions in our class were not available for students on our wait list.

I would encourage you to consider applying to Emory College as a transfer student after one or two years of college elsewhere. Our transfer application deadline for future fall terms is June 1.

Your strong interest in Emory University is appreciated. Please accept my best wishes for a successful college career.

Sincerely,
Daniel C. Walls
Dean of Admission
Emory University

oh well, it was worth a shot (i'm still happy at my currently enrolled university)
