Class of 2009 - Mid 50% academic profile

Admission Criteria
Admission to The Florida State University is competitive. It requires graduation from a regionally accredited high school with certain high school academic units, a cumulative grade point average (GPA) in those academic units, and test scores as outlined on this page. Satisfying these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

The academic profile of the middle 50th percent of the freshmen that were accepted in 2009 was:

3.5-4.1 academic GPA;
25-29 ACT composite; 1700-1930 SAT total

My sister went to FSU for campus tour this morning, I went along as did our mom and dad. After tour, an admissions staffer gave a powerpoint presentation where he used different numbers than above for 2009 accepted middle 50%.

He had: 3.6-4.2 GPA
1730-1960 SAT
26-30 ACT

I can’t explain difference, but that’s what he was using today. Guess things are getting tougher for freshman applicants.

Is this the admitted data or the people who are actually enrolled? Big difference.

Above numbers are admitted. Enrolled stats are probably a little lower. The admissions officer yesterday did tell a questioner not to get hung up on admitted numbers he used as they were middle 50% and students got in FSU with lower grades and scores.

Are you an applicant, lizard?

My sister is applying as a freshman. I plan to apply to FSU next year for graduate school.

Good luck!

I figured as much - your responses and vision were not that of many typical freshman. What field, if I may be so nosy?

I’m working now at USF on getting bachelor degrees in education and also communication sciences & disorders/speech-language pathology. I hope to continue my education attaining a masters in CSD/speech-language pathology.

some high numbers
