Class of 2010... CI Site is up and Admitted Students..

Wait, so are we sure that if you are able to log in it means you are accepted?

I'm just going to wait for the paper notification, as am I too worried to check right now?!

hey i got gw id also but did not go onto the next steps. but don't worry guys nobody will make you go to gw.... unless you want to haha this is not early decision binding. its just a way to trick the system. i love tricking the system!! if only this worked for everyone....

I'm so confused. I really don't think if you can get an GWid you're in, although I wish that was the case.

This is from the site:
"A GWid is an alphanumeric value used to identify an individual's records within GW's administrative systems. A GWid is the letter 'G' followed by an eight-digit number. For the majority of University services that currently require the use of your SSN, the GWid is designed to function in its place."

Read the first line carefully
A GWid is...TO IDENTIFY AN INDIVIDUAL'S RECORDS WITHIN GW'S ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEMS

We're all in the system b/c we applied so regardless, rejected or accepted, we all get GWid's, our numbers and info and all that other stuff is in the system. =/

anyone not get a GWid?

Their computers auto-generate GWids so everyone should have a GWid, accepted or not you are all entered into Banner. I would not look into to it too much unless you find someone who can't... then it gets interesting, otherwise the only way to know you got in is the good ol' post man.

Good Luck!

yeah, we won't know for sure until someone says that they cant get their GWUid. because i got mine. i think everyone's able to get their GWUid, but not pin.

if anyone can't obtain their gwuid, please post! it would clear up a lot for all of us :)

When trying to get aqn id for ssn + DOB:
You may use this option only if you are a new student who has officially accepted an offer of admission but has not yet registered for courses.
I'm not even going to risk it ...

Wait, didn't they mail decisions out yesterday? We should be receiving them very shortly and I am not quite sure why some of you are willing to take careless risks that GW would look down on you for. Be patient! I am sure that everything will turn out alright.

I applied to GW but will be attending G'Town next year. I think that all of the kids from CC who are going to be in the DC area next year should get together for some kind of party or something. It's great because we are all ambitious and care about our futures. Plus, keeping in touch would allow us to network later in life. Obviously if you are even applying to schools such as Georgetown and George Washington you will become something great later in life.

I look forward to hearing how you all are doing after decisions are received and even next year.

hahahaha "careless risks that GW would look down on you for" common

I am confused, I am getting this message:

The Social Security number and/or birth date you entered do not match a record in our system.
Our records do not show that you have officially accepted an offer of admission.
Our records show that you are a registered student, faculty member, staff member, or alumnus/a.

I have a feeling this is only working if you have been admitted, but I was also told by a classmate that they are making decisions through tomorrow, as her dad called the admissions office, so don't figure too much into this, good luck.

i highly doubt i got in, and i got an id, so it must mean nothing.

G-dub just sent me an e-mail saying that they recently decided to send out e-mails on the 31st informing people of their decision

I just got the e-mail too....AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh!!!

Dear Ilovegtown,

Thank you for applying to The George Washington University. Over the last few months, our Admissions Committee has reviewed the applications of more than 19,000 students from around the world. Later this week, we will begin mailing our decision letters. So that you may receive your admissions decision as soon as possible, we plan to email applicants their decisions after 5:00 pm (EST) on Friday, March 31.

We appreciate your interest in GW.
