Yeah, I haven’t quite listed/figured out the specific dates of what is due when (in short, EA/RD), but my list is…

Washington University in St. Louis

Stanford

Princeton

Carnegie Mellon

Emory

MAYBE…MIT

with 3 safeties

U of I Champaign-Urbana

@mangocandy4 i would, but Brown is more liberal arts, and im going into the sciences!

There are SOOO many liberal arts schools that are strong in the sciences.

Also… Mangocandy was being sarcastic… Get it?

Okay I’ll chime in too.

EA
Yale
UMD

RD
Harvard
Princeton (which I had never considered until a recent
info session)
UPenn
Columbia
UChicago
Georgetown
Wesleyan
Duke
Boston University
University of Pittsburgh

Wow, this list is kind of long. That must be the reason I always write it horizontally. Hahahaa.

I’ve decided to make my first tentative list of colleges, with an emphasis on tentative.

EA:
- Yale

RD:
- Georgetown
- NYU
- American U
- Howard
- Cornell
- U Chicago
- Dartmouth
- UPenn
- Brown
- UC Berkeley & UCLA (although certainly not my favorites)
- Swarthmore (I want to apply to at least one LAC)

Not gonna lie, I think I’m going to apply to a few more. People say it’s better to apply to just a few schools (5-7 in my school’s opinion), but I feel like that’s too limiting. I’ve learned that it’s safer to have as many options as possible.

Update!

USC (#1)
Loyola Marymount (early action)
Santa Clara (early action)
Pomona
CSU Long Beach
Washington University in St. Louis
George Washington
Vanderbilt

Would any of you ever apply to rival schools?!

Like Duke & UNC?
Harvard & Yale?
UPenn & Princeton?

^ I would probably apply to duke and UNC. I had no clue that Princeton and Penn were rivals… Silly me, haha.

Oops. Looks like I left off a school on my list - U Miami (early action).

Vanderbilt
U of I-(Illinois resident)
Michigan State

Amherst/Colgate (which ever one I don’t do ED for)
Brown…ehh. not too excited.
Swarthmore
Vassar

1 Duke

2 USC

3 Berkeley

4 UCLA

Rank: 4/270.
Cumulative GPA: 4.2 (weighted w/ Honors)
SAT: 2200
*I’m a minority lol (Pacific Islander)

If I don’t get into Duke or USC, I’m gonna cry my eyes out lol.

^ I am too! Where are you from?!
You probably won’t see this, haha.

Sent from my iPhone 4 using CC

I don’t really think UPenn and Princeton are rivals, honestly. But maybe I’m just misinformed.

However, I think that since there are far more similarities between schools like Harvard and Yale than differences, it wouldn’t hurt to apply to both schools - you’d have more options around decisions time that way.

Ivy leagues, Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College London, WUSTL, Boston College/ University, Rochester, state schools.

wow you guys are applying to some big schools!

here’s my list, the last two are safeties.

University of Maryland

University of Miami

University of Michigan

Cornell University

College of William & Mary

Emory University

George Washington University

Georgetown University

Marist College

Stony Brook University

Hey Im a member of the class of 2013. I was wondering if any of you are applying to an HBCU and if so why and not why not. I’m just curious because I have to start looking around for colleges and the only HBCU that I’ve looked at was Howard and only because I am a double legacy there.

Yes , I am applying to Three HBCU’s
- Morehouse
- Xavier LA
- Howard U

There are many reasons why I am applying to HBCU’s. 1st there is an enormous amount of Black culture and pride at these schools. The social life Is awesome. But most importantly many if these schools are top of the line institutions that send it’s students into the TOP graduate schools & programs

That’s cool. But are you worried about having a campus not as diverse as othet schools? I visited Howard last summer and it reminded me of school. Also, students from my is school who go or went to Howard say that part of it is like a fashion show which discourages me from applying. Can anyone clear this up?

Future Special Education Teacher

My top two schools:
Juniata College-I know it’s bad to fall in love with a college, but I don’t know what I’ll do with myself if I can’t go here. This is the perfect school for me.
Clarion University of Pennsylvania

Other Schools:
Millersville University of Pennsylvania
Keystone College
Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania
