I'm not necessarily going to lawrence--visiting schools in a week--so I haven't made any housing choices. But I'm also interested in philosophy and linguistics! For my major I'm thinking philosophy or a language, not linguistics, but that is one of the things I really like about lawrence--a liberal arts school with linguistics.

Count me in, i'm also going to be a part of class 2012, majoring in economics and minoring in politics ( i will defenatly take chinese and possibly take spanish as well). I'm choosing Sage as my top choices. hopefully, see u guys there

To those who have chosen Lawrence, what was/were your other possible top choice() that you have been accepted to? Why did you choose Lawrence instead of the other schools?

I have not decided what school to go to yet, its between Lawrence and Ball State. I really love Lawrence, but the private school debt is somewhat concerning. What I really like is the small class size and the ability to have a one on one relationship with professors. I also think that I would just "fit" better with a small school environment.

Lawrence was my top choice for a school. I applied to one higher ranked school that was closer to where I live (was rejected), but even if I had gotten in, I would still have gone to Lawrence.

The other school I got into was the U of M - Twin Cities, but the aid they gave me was terrible and it would have cost me the same amount as Lawrence.

When I visited Lawrence this summer, everyone there was really nice. At other colleges I had visited none of the professors were available to talk to, but at Lawrence I met three and all three were friendly and gave me a lot of helpful information about their school. I also like Appleton and the surrounding area.

excited419 - If you do decide to go to Lawrence, what are you thinking of majoring in?

just out of curiousity,to who that got the offer from Lawrence, what do you get for your financial aid package. Did Lawrence meet your full need?

I think that LU FAO s think they met our need, but they did not meet our need. this might be true of any college.

our efc=20k;
LU cost after grants (no scholarships (!) ) = 24.6k; did not meet our need; in our case, the 20k efc is absurd in the first place, but it is a part of the game - and they did not even meet THAT.

then there 6k in loans and work study. I disagree that this is meeting our need; loans and work is but another way to pay the cost.
