Class of 2013

Yeah I'm from two countries - Canada and South Africa - and NEITHER side has scored any medals so far! sigh... no I'm leaving my essays for my October holidays so I have lots of time to work on them - ie: I'm procrastinating:)

I think u dont need to be to hurry on the essay. But the sooner the better. I try to complete my raw ones before September! Times then I will spend in correct mistake

Brainstorm all you can. A killer essay could make or break the deal, you know :).

How could a killer essay break the deal?

S33D, I didn't mean the literal interpretation :p

That wasn't what I meant. Killer = an excellent essay. How could an excellent essay break the deal? Just an essay (with no added adjectives) can make or break the deal, but not a killer essay :p

OK, correction - a killer essay can MAKE the deal.

Or, an essay can make or break the deal.

yeah, i'm in a mood to irritate today.

haha I guess your essay can make it or break it but I've heard some stories where people have written stupid things in their essays and still gotten in...
uch we have like HUUUUUGE exams in october/november so I have nooo idea when I'm going to get everything done.........

HUUUUUUUUGE exams within school, or public exams?

well we have what are called Trials this week and next week which are internal exams and then starting Oct 19th... we have like these HUUUUUUGE public exams which we have literally been studying for for like 2 years and bascially determmine what university you can go to and what you can study... and I go to what my mother calls a 'pressure cooker' school so we're pretty stressed at this very moment

Ah, we have that cycle in Jan and March :)

Ah, Malaysia has yet to win something in the Olympics... I recently got my AS exam results back and they're okay. Not amazing (I have friends who did better than I did and are DISAPPOINTED), but I'm happy with them. I was well into the A boundary for art, but I bombed my statistics exam so my math grade was pulled down to a B. How un-Asian is that?! :p

Singapore got into the finals for woman's table tennis. First medal in a bazillion years. Shall be rooting for China though. All other players are Chinese exports. ^^ Silver's good enough.

^ I saw a table tennis team match between Singapore and Korea. Korea won it.

I think all my numbers are jumbled up today.. class of 2013 starts next autumn right? Yes. I think so. If so, that's me! ..hopefully :-/ I'm doing SATs in October/November/December

Yes, you're right! Welcome here!

(just so you know, I'm Class of 2014 :p)

Wooot!

I found another college that I'm applying to.. I didn't know there were LACs that were need blind to internationals but Amherst is so I'm applying there too. Eeeeek. I hope I actually get in to one of these schools! And I hope you guys do too.. then we can all hang out together and do a little dance.

^ So are Williams and Middlebury

YES Lee Chong Wei is in the badminton singles finals! I saw one badminton final between China and... China?! Wow.
@Nadash: yep, I agree, most table tennis players are exports of China. I think I saw a game between Australia and New Zealand a couple of years ago - at the Olympics or the Commonwealth games, I can't remember - and they were both Chinese. I mean, even our star badminton player is of Chinese descent!
