Blake Hall is probably the best dorm on campus according to most people and in my opinion. It's more modern than any other and the lobby has a plasma (I think) TV.

Evangeline is girls only now, becoming co-ed in fall 09, and I've never been in there, but the reputation of it is middle of the road.

Blake Hall's pretty good. I think half of it though is for ag majors only. Evangeline will be the dorm for the basic sciences next yr. Evangeline is pretty spacious.

Probably. I would think it's odd for to invite you to orientation and then reject you.

Yeah, they don't limit the parking tags given out. I think for this last year, when we scheduled classes it asked us if we wanted a parking tag. They'll probably go over it during orientation.

Like I said though, parking sucks. If you leave campus on the weekdays and come back somewhat late at night, you'll probably end up with a parking space that's 5-10 minute walk from your dorm. Though recently, I've been getting lucky and there's a few "hidden" parking lots that many people don't know you can park there and so those will tend to be open as well.

My name is Lauren and I will be a freshman in the LSU honors college in the fall majoring in Mass Comm. I have put Laville down as my first choice, but haven't seen the inside. Anybody have any info??

I'm a mass comm Freshman now living in Laville...

It's not the best dorm around, the lobby is quite bland. The rooms are a good size, each room has a sink. Bathrooms are usually fairly clean. Quite a lot of partying does go on here, but there's not a lot of noise usually. Fire alarm goes off way too often. Air conditioning is good. Back door is pretty much a smoker's paradise.

The whole "honors college" feel is completely exaggerated. Other than the fact the kids are a bit more dedicated to their studies, there really is no difference than other dorms on campus.

zman- wait for an e-mail confirmation from lsu. they'll send you directions then.

dse1046783- i think the best dorms for freshman are the residential halls. blake (ag college) and the business/engineering dorms are the nicest. Evangeline (basic sciences) are pretty nice as well.

Personally, i find hergert to be way too small. it seems cramped. however, many people have overlooked it's small size b/c of the activities that the dorm sponsors.

Disregard the above post, I got my confirmation e-mail today. So do I just wait for a letter or what is my next step? Thanks to all who have helped me, you have made being a Tiger even more amazing.

zman, plan on living on-campus or off-campus? If on-campus, then you might be able to go ahead and apply for housing. If off-campus, you might start browsing for apartments for the fall.
