How the heck did I miss bancharo’s post there? I must admit this is the first time I’ve ever heard of an international thinking of applying to a military school in US.

@2014: Try to boost your CR score and we cannot really suggest a college list for you, for we do not know you very well.

guys you suggest me to boost my CR score but i donot know how much to boost?
can you tell me how much i need to get inorder to land in thikai ko colleg!!!
thikai ko bane ko thikai ko ho hai ramro hunu pardina

first we need to know when did you give your SAT the last time.It matters because ur scores may get cancelled if you show immediate improvement of more than 150. I have known it to happen to one of the seniors,so you have to be careful.

sorry to say but i havenot given the SAT exam yet, i wrote it in the post coz i was expecting something like that(jo mancghe lai sodyo bane ni SAt ko CR ta yati garyo huncha re so i thought i will get 450 which i am appering in oct 10!!! i have started reading the SAt words (1000 words most asked)
one more is these SAt words enough for us to obtain 500-600?

ANd what if i am pro in those 1000 words i mean what you guys will expect int he SAt CR? plz suggest la

ani i am sure taht i am gonna get 750-800 in maths . thats for sure

They won’t necessarily cancel scores and also it doesn’t depend on when you last took the test. If they find too drastic a change in the scores they will ‘flag’ the score and take extra time check that you didn’t cheat or anything. If they don’t find anything wrong then they’ll just release your score. I’m not sure of the exact numbers that may cause your SAT scores to be flagged. But according to this post- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1060550056-post3.html - it is “350 points or more increase in M+CR causes a flag, or 250 in one section.” An official link to confirm the exact numbers would be nice.

@2014: Try to boost your scores to 550 and this is very much possible by october.

P.S. Anyways all this flagging and stuff is the last thing you should be worrying about. Just practice for the test. And best of luck :)

Edit: I hadn’t read your previous post before writing this.

@2014: There is more to SAT than just vocabulary. While learning new words can be very helpful, this in no way guarantees you a high score. If you’re expecting something like 450 then that would mean that you’re not only having difficulties with the vocab. but also with the passage based question. The best thing to do would be to download one of those official practice test from collegeboard, take the test and see what kind of mistakes you make. That should be the first thing you do.
Also, please pay very close attention to the math section as well. Don’t ignore it. The section can sometimes get tricky(not that you can’t get 750-800). But please do pay close attention to it. The questions that come in the math section are esy but you only need to make 1 or 2 careless mistakes to drop your score to 750. There’s a reason why a score of 750 would be around 97 percentile.

Depends on which college you’ll be applying to. But if those colleges require the personal essay then YEAH!!! Don’t wait any longer but remember the SAT should be the first priority. :)

how we are going to find about the colleges which is most likely to offer scholarship, also which university or the college is the best, is their any nepali student or not ?

can you suggest me the way to do research on colleges on those topic?

^For that you’ll have to research, research and do some more research. There is no easy way out of this. On, how to research there are no ‘techniques’ or any such things. You’ll just have to go through the universities’ websites one by one.

guys plz help me. currently doing my a-Levels.i am A2 student. i’ve been getting goods grades in all of subjects(math,phy,chem and bio) but my problem is GP. got C this time. So i asked the coordiantor of my school if that would affect my GPA. score. but he says i simply don’t need to worry about it and it’s of no importance for my college application. but my friends tell me that GP is of equal importance. so right now i feel like i am in a deep s**t. so plz advice me. by the way, i want to do my undergrad in either physics or environment. hope to get a reply soon from you guys

@bancharo
Military colleges are not for us bro unless you’re a US citizen

@adhikari
GP is important but it’s not a factor that will really hamper your college chances. By the way my friend got accepted in Williams when he had 4A (phy, chem,further maths,maths) and a “c” in GP. So it’s not really a big deal. There are many factors determining a college’s acceptance and this is not really a major one.
Maintain your other grades and i’m sure u’ll also improve ur GP grades by writing more essays and reading up for knowledge.Basically you have to get the structure right. And then with more practice evrything else falls right in place.
Don’t worry there is still time to get that “c” to an “a”.
